Ignacio Hernández founded Hernández Strategy Group in 2003 after having served as a Chief of Staff in both the California State Assembly and the California State Senate. As an attorney Ignacio represented clients in employment discrimination, wage theft and criminal cases. He has successfully navigated a litany of proposals through the legislative process and has worked to stop hundreds of bills adverse to his clients’ interests. Before beginning his career at the State Capitol, Ignacio taught in the Political Science Department at San Jose State University. Currently he sits on the Public Interest Law Board of Santa Clara University School of Law
Morgan Carvajal has been a part of the HSG team since March of 2013 and works primarily on consumer, social services, senior and energy related policy. In past legislative sessions, she played an important role in HSG’s success in stopping a number of legislative efforts and has also worked with stakeholders to find solutions for expanding access to court services; specifically, access to court transcripts and spoken language interpreters. She has led legislative campaigns to secure greater protections for seniors, and negotiated numerous bills related to electronic vehicles, energy storage, and protection for low-income utility consumers. Morgan has testified before a wide range of legislative committees. Morgan previously worked as a Legislative Aide to Senator Fran Pavley and came to Hernández Strategy Group with legislative and communications experience.
